The former blasts targeted Israeli tourists but are unlikely to have been Palestinians, who have very little capacity to attack (and traditionally little interest in attacking) outside of Israel/Palestine. For an interesting article about why this might be the case and the contrast with Iraq, check out Jonathan Steele’s recent piece in the Guardian. The latter blasts targeted a Sunni Muslim rally and Shia groups are being blamed. The frequency and intensity of these bombings and their presence in places like Pakistan and Egypt — it’s hard to put a word on it all. It is a horrific feature of this new world order of invasion, occupation, and responses that try to rival the invaders for ruthlessness.
